OT -- USA Today Gun Poll
i got this in an e-mail from a friend.
As he told me, vote early, vote often. Just because the right answer is way out front is no reason not to vote like a good Democrat.
Doc
his takes literally 2 clicks to complete less than a minute of your time.
Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today.
It will only take a few seconds of your time Then pass the link on
to all the pro gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be
published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical
for gun owners with the Supreme Court accepting the District of Columbia
case against the right for individuals to bear arms.
First - vote on this one.
Second - launch it to other folks and have THEM vote -
then we will see if the results get published.
Vote in the USA Today poll - click on the link below.
The Question is:
"Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?"

Re: OT -- USA Today Gun Poll
Thanks, Doc, FWIW this thing has been going since way last fall sometime, they just dont take it down for some reason. Over 1,400,000 votes now, you would think they would get the idea!
Re: OT -- USA Today Gun Poll
A bunch of the Democrats have got the idea......we're getting a bit of cushion, but for God's sake, don't let up the pressure.

I think I voted on that one some time back, but what the heck, another vote can't hurt.

I voted yes (again) too, and it is still at 96%. Actually, the correct answer is "no" though. The Second Amendment doesn't give us an individual right to keep and bear arms, it prevents the federal government from infringing on a natural right we are all born with to keep and bear arms. Just like our other natural rights. The distinction is critical, as anything the government gives, they can take away.
I know - I know - splitting hairs. Still, this is an important difference - and is getting to be more important each day the Socialist-in-Chief is president.
USA Today should have worded the question properly, but since we all know the intent - to see how many people believe the right is individual versus collective (or non-existant), "yes" is the appropriate answer.

That's why I hate 'political' surveys - they assume you're either Republican or Democrat, and it goes downhill from there...Ysabel Kid wrote:I voted yes (again) too, and it is still at 96%. Thanks for the heads up!
I just figured the numbers, and it's 24 out of 25 people who agree with us!!
I wonder if Congress is listening!

Alexander Hamilton said it best when he described the Bill of Rights as unnecessary. Why specify certain rights we have in a constitution, when our rights over an oppressive government are infinite in the first place? In other words, by even establishing a Bill of Rights, we in essence have claimed only THOSE rights.
In a letter to James Madison concerning the Bill of Rights, Thomas Jefferson wrote, “Half a loaf is better than no bread. If we cannot secure all our rights, let us secure what we can”.
I like what Ted Nugent said: "The Second Amendment IS my concealed weapons permit."
We need more men like "Uncle Ted"!

Re: OT -- USA Today Gun Poll
We just got a new congresswoman and she is big time Dem so was sure she would stick it to us. To my surprise she was one of the 65 Dems who told Holder to scrap his assault weapon ban proposal and to leave the laws we have alone. I have e-mailed my thanks to her with respect. There are a lot of bluedog Dems in the south especially and we need to keep them on our side so be careful what you say. We need all the help we can get.Diplomacy get more results than insults.
Re: OT -- USA Today Gun Poll
YK, there are too few people who can see accurately the way you do on this matter. Thanks for that posting. I voted and it is still 96%.
