Hi All,
I'm looking at buying a 1860 Army black powder revolver (or two), and have seen them in Cabela's catalogue at a fairly nice price. Who makes Cabela's revolvers???

Possibly Pietta, can't remember. May I recommend you check out Dixie Gun Works @ dixiegun.com. They offer Uberti mfg'd C&B revolvers. I haven't regretted shelling out the extra bucks for my 1860 Army. jd45

Lobo,
I got an 1860 Army from Buffalo Arms.
http://www.buffaloarms.com/browse.cfm/2,307.html
They sell Uberti. The Uberti is said to be better quality than the Pietta.
I handled a pietta and thought that it was poorly fitted.
I am more than happy with the Uberti.
The Uberti is more expensive but it was worth it to me.
I've heard that Uberti made the percussion revolvers that were sold by Colt when they werre reintroduced, and made the parts for all the others.

They are Pietta's and are very good quality.
The Pietta people are on the SASS message boards and CAS message boards and really listened to the consumer about their products, They have steadily increased quality to the point that they are as good and in some cases better than Uberti's.
I wouldn't hesitate to buy a Pietta,
They also make the conversion cylinders for Piettas.
The only two manufaturers I am aware of that the conversion companies bother to make their cylinders for are Uberti and Pietta and I believe that is because they are the only two manufacturers with a high enough quality product for them to bother with.
They also make a Single action model 73 Colt 45 copy that from what I hear is possibly the nicest one on the market. I haven't seen one of those personally though.

I'd like to thank President B.O. and Ms Pelosi.........

I do a good deal of business with Cabelas and I can tell you from past experience that any time you have a question about one of their products the people on the order line have the resources to be able to tell you a lot about any given piece of gear they sell.
