Receiver sight for 1895 Browning
I'm looking for some info on sights for a 1895 browning. I have seen the big lyman type but was wondering if there is a smaller, handier, type. I have seen some originals with a bolt mounted peep and this would be up my alley. It would add 10-12" to the radius.

Ashley Interprises which I now think is call X-Press sights or something like that makes a neat bolt mounted peep and replacement front sight blade set for the Winchester 95. I installed a set on my Brownchester 95 and they work just fine. It will require drilling and taping two holes on the top back of the bolt.

This is the rear half of the XS set. A higher front sight WILL be needed, and the XS white-line post in the set is excellent.

The XS is the most cost effective for a bolt peep. There is an outfit up near Fargo, ND called Frontier Americana that advertises a replica of the Winchester bolt peep, but they run about $225 to $250.
