Howdy all

Post by mtcraigco »

Howdy,

Just thought I'd say a polite hello. Picked up a Marlin Guide Gun in .450, have wanted one for a loooong time and one literally walked in my door about a month ago, so I figured this'd be a good place to poke around for some handloading and other info for it.

thanks

Welcome...! This is a great resource.!

If I've learned anything from this board, it's that the first thing they'll tell you is there's nothing a 450 Marlin can do that a 45-70 won't do, so get ready.!

Welcome to the fire pull up a seat and make your self at home. The 450 is one of the few I don't have but I am sure that someone will be along shortly to help you out. As has been stated the 45-70 is king in these parts, buit that is not to say that we don't want to hear a range report or see pictures. Pictures go over very big here.

Welcome Mark,

You'll find a great bunch of guys here. Make yourself at home.

Do you have a website for your holster shop?

Well, I found it...http://www.crossbreedholsters.com/MiniTuck.html

Welcome to the fire! Click on "Search" at the top of the page. Type in 450 Marlin and you'll get over 100 hits, some of which actually are about the 450 Marlin and others just happen to include "marlin" and "450" in the same post. And eventually someone just may have some useful info. Also you might change your post title to include "450 Marlin" in it since the folks who are interested in that round might not "see" your post otherwise... just click the "edit post" link and you can edit it easily.

The post was not a direct question for load info, sorry if it came by that way.

More of a "Hi, this is why I'm here post"

Thanks for all the "welcomes", glad to be here

And yes I know the 450 gets trashed alot by the 45-70 guys.
But this gun just walked in the door, literally, and I couldn't pass on it.

Besides I handload so what's the diff?? Very little between the two.

Yep. Except, of course, that the 45-70 simply has more class. :D  8)

Seriously, though, congrats on the rifle. In case you're not aware of it, mention of a new rifle on the forum MUST be accompanied by photos. :) We've a bunch of shootin' iron junkies with an insatiable appetite for pics of neckid guns. Or, since you've a leather company, pics of guns wearing tasteful leather are also encouraged. :D

Just imagine what one of those would do to one of your foxes! :) It'd be interesting to see Tia trying to figure out which piece to retrieve first... :D
