After looking for a long time for a used 39A, I decided to fork out the money for a Henry H001 from Wally World. I picked up a Nikon Prostaff 4x32 fixed power rimfire scope as well and will be putting it all together tomorrow (Christmas). This was my present to myself (along with a Smith 686, but that's another story...).
Is there anything I need to know about these little rifles before taking it out for a spin?

Todd,
Yep, have fun!
Well, mine is over 5 years old, and I still love it. I am aproaching 10,000 rounds through mine, and it is still the most wonderful, reliable, trouble-free, easiest to use rifle that I have ever owned. It always shoots to exactly where I am pointing it. You see, that is the problem: ME! If I were a better shot, then I could really tell you about the rifle's accuracy.
Enjoy your new Henry!
Shawn

My first rimfire levergun was an Erma the German made forerunner of the Henry H001.
Probably one of the best .22s I have owned for reliability and pure fun!
I shot more Crows with that gun than any other I have had.
I'd try it without the scope first, even with the basic sights mine sure put the lead in the right place!

Congrats! You need to know that it will be hard to stop shooting it, so leave some extra time

You won't get any grief from anyone here that has owned or shot one. After looking for a long time for a used 39A, I decided to fork out the money for a Henry H001 from Wally World
I've got a 9422, 39a, and a Henry H001 and take the Henry 80% of the time out looking for squirrels. It's just as accurate and definitely smoother than the others.
You'll be hard pressed to find a better bang for your buck.
