Danged Rossi 92 sight!!!
I want to replace the factory blade sight on my Rossi 92 with a bead. That thing won't come out! I'm assuming that the taper would in the dovetail would have it come out the loading port side, but it is in there really tight. Any suggestions on how to get it out? I'm using a nylon hammer and brass pin. The sight is in the barrel, not a ramp. I've hit it hard enough to peen the brass pin. Sight didn't budge. I guess that says something about their durability!

Get a bigger hammer. Yes, they can be real tight. You are trying to move it the right way. Also, It is not a standard dovetail (metric), so you may need to open it up a bit for a standard American dovetail.

Make sure you support the bbl area where the sight is so it wont move and use a steel hammer, big wont hurt, with a brass drift the sight goes in and comes out on the right side, some wd40 and left to soak could help. danny

As mentioned you should support the barrel near the dovetail then with a brass drift and hammer tap the sight out from the left side to the right side. Folks thing dovetails are taper cut but the reality is they are cut straight but as the sight is driven in the dovetail is swaged tapered. That is why it is important that you drive it out from the left side because it was driven in from the right.
More than likely if anything the dovetail in the barrel will be slightly large. Rossi tends to make dovetail slightly large, rather than fit the site bases better. Saves man-hours. For years the inter-arms imported guns had .400 +- dovetails. Marbles actually made oversize rear sights specifically for the Rossi's but when Rossi started dovetailing for fronts they reduced them slightly, usually around .380-.390.
