Heads-Up for any Central Texas Marlin lovers...

Post by RSY »

I was in Red's in Oak Hill yesterday and they have what I thought was a new 336 on the used rack. Closer inspection showed that it was actually a centennial model with the 1870-1970 medallion in the stock, no safety, etc., etc. Very clean, and I do mean it looks new. Tag says $400.

FYI

Hey, what can I say? I'm a nice guy.

Oh, I neglected to mention that next to it was a 1927 Model 92 that has been re-finished and barreled to .357 Mag. Also $400.

:D

No, but you want 'em pretty bad don't you?

I'd like to have that Mdl 92 myself. With my wifes eyes getting fixed she needs something to shoot.

I don't believe "need" is a variable in the equation. Means and motive are all that is required.

Yeah, that's got me in trouble with the Mrs. more times that I like to remember. I had the motive, but she didn't think we had the means.

Thanks for posting. I am very interested in the B92 you mentioned. Do you have a phone number or address for Red's. I am in East Texas.

The 92 is actually a Winchester, not a Browning. Here's their site: http://www.redsguns.com/ The gun in question is at the south location.

You're welcome. Hey, wouldn't you rather have a 1927 American Winchester than a more recent Browning made in Japan???
