Cowboy Action Shooting (SASS) is coming to central Florida
and i want to go watch...and check out the venders!
The Last Stand is the SASS State of Florida Championship. It is hosted by the Central Florida Rifle and Pistol Club, and organized by the members of The Last Stand Committee. They are going to have four days of shooting, partying, and all-around cowboy fun.
When is it? January 8th thru the 11th!!!!

This year, we've decided to stay home for the holidays so I may be available. But, with my wife, that could change in the blink of an eye.

and he said he will be available to go shoot'n the 26th to the 31st... The 26th, 27th or 28th is good for me...

We have a pretty nice range here in Daytona...
Strickland Range on Indian Lake Road off route US92
There is also a public range in the Ocala National Forest
on forest road 88 just off route 40! If we shoot there
you could go hunting also!

OK boys I made it home and itching to burn some powder. I am going to suggest Saturday morning DEC 27, who can make it? Will it be a problem for others? sound off with an acceptable date, lets put this together. I will be home till Jan 5th. I would really like to get the usual suspects together and see some new faces (Rhimfire is getting uglier as the years pass ).

Well mixed emotions... the wife has four days off now.

Guess I won't make this one.

I just wanted to say thanks to you guys.
I drove the 250 miles to Daytona and met Rihmfire, Duff L Bag and Rimfire McNutjob, great group of guys. We shot a few guns. My Marlin 1894 44 mag jammed on me, I did not operate the lever properly and got one hung up. Duff L Bag was able to fix my problem, Thanks again.
I got to shoot some of Rihmfire's guns I really liked his 38-40.
After shooting for a couple of hours we went to a nearby BBQ place for lunch.
I had a great time meeting you all.

Oh yeah, Rimfire McNutjob has one of the nicest rifles I have ever seen, Wow.

Well we had a pretty good shooting day...
dr walker made a long journey to meet with Duff L Bag, Rimfire McNutjob and me...
and boy did we sling some lead....
first off...dr walker was shooting a marlin 44 mag and marlin 39...
and he's a pretty good darn shot...He did have a little problem with his 44...
but Duff took care of that....right quick!

Now Duff likes the big boy toys....He was shooting a winchester model 95 in 405
a Rossi 454 and a marlin cowboy in 45-70..
He like to make a lot of noise....and move lots of dirt!



this is the sling on his 405...Elephant trunk....real nice texture and color..
Now Rimfire McNutjob was really making some noise...
He had his chronograph with hin and was testing some loads....
He was shooting his winchester model 71 take down in 450 alaskan



He had some very consistant loads too....and you could tell the difference
just by watching the recoil...I let him give the details....
We were shooting at the 50 yard range....and Duff and Rimfire McNutjob
turned it into a 60 yard range with their heavy artillary...
I was shooting my pea shooters winchester model 92 in 38-40
Uberti 45LC and 44-40....didnt get to shoot the 44 mag or 357 legacy



top row is 41 mag, 45 lc and 454 casul
next row..38-40, 44-40, 44mag, 45LC, 45-70, 405 win,
and the last two are 450 alaskan
Yep we had one great day at the range...
dr walker, Duff, and Rimfire are a great bunch of guys....
and I want to thank dr walker for joining us....
We have to do this more often....
