Interesting? Yes. Better? Not necessairly. Especially considering the bullet weight.
"Better" is Grizzly (Leverguns Sponsor) or Buffalo Bore... or the handload equivelents.

Paid $19 for a box of 25 357mag @ a Bass Pro Shop. It's 140 grain fodder. Shot a group last weekend but want to try it again because I had a scope problem. It "feels" like a full power load when shot but accuracy was not as good as other factory loads I tested.
I guess that means that I will miss faster when the bullet nears the game.

Test fired some of the 44's a couple weeks ago. Got a couple of the cardboard "bales" from the local grocery store. At 30 yards the bullet tumbled after hitting the cardboard, did not expand, and only penetrated 21". I then put a 300gr cast ranch dog into the bales. 12" more penetration, larger "wound channel".
I will stick with my cast bullets.

I bought a couple of boxes. I have shot most of one box. The accuracy in the trapper I have is good, but I have only shot about 5 rounds through the rifle, and five through my sp101. I have a guy that is doing an article on the .357 for my local magazine, but I haven't seen the article yet. I will update later if anyone wants.

I've purchased 2 boxes if each . And to be honest I've not shot any of either !
Personally I feel if a person likes the idea of this style bullet they'll like it and if they don't care for it they won't have much good to say about it !
And what about me you might ask !
I like just about everything and it is my intention to try as many different things as I can before they strike the match and burn my dead decaying carcass
I can say this I have shot the LE ammo in 30-30 , 308 Express , 35 REM , 444 , 450 and 45-70 on paper and it ALL shot well in my Marlin XLR's .
Now as to the hunting abilities of these rounds I have killed one deer with the 30-30 with one shot and it was a bang tip tip tip flop . Kill two deer and two fox with the 308 and ALL were boom flop . Killed one deer with the 35 with one shot and it was boom flop ! The 450 Marlin was fired twice at deer . One was a boom flop and the other was a boom 30 tips and a flop !
I have yet to try the 444 or 45-70 but I truely see no reason for them not to follow suit !
I might add I also have a couple boxes of this stuff for the 32 Winchester , but have yet to fire any of it ! When I ordered it I was kinda hoping Marlin would bring the 32 Special out in a 336XLR . But so far NO CIGAR !
It is my intention to set all my XLR's aside for these rubber tipped bullets and by no means am I saying thats what everyone should do ! But thats what I'm gonna do !
I have plenty other rifles in all those calibers to shoot jacketed or cast handloads

hey you guys should be shooting that stuff at 230 yards not 30 yards, and see if it holds its accuracy better, that's what it's for.

I read the article today, and the writer gave it a good review, so I went out today, and shot some more with this ammo. As far accuracy goes this stuff is good, I shot my 94 trapper .357 magnum, with a good rest put three almost through the same hole. If it penetrats good on an animal this is pretty good stuff. I want to see it in the field hunting before I go a gushy as my writer.

I chronied some of the .357 stuff today. Out of my carbine, it clocked in at a little over 1700 f/s. I can drive a 180 grain bullet to that with my handloads. It penetrated 7.5" into a bullet test tube.

I have the article on-line at my site. I like it, but I still think that the tip is going to keep it from penetrating at close range. At 75 to 100 yards it may get better. It is accurate in fact it is the only low grain bullet ammo that my trapper shoots good. I still like my partitions, and hard casts.
