Problems? Expense is the biggest problem I can think of.

One makes the cases from the .30-40 Krag and they will be 1.97" and 2.125" respectively (.30 and .35). Ackley (a bit on the high side i.e optimistic by most accounts) gives 150 over 41 IMR 4064 for 2670 and 200 over 40 IMR 3031 for 2370 for the pair. Hardly worth the effort/expense if you ask me.

I like the .35 Rem but if you need more there is the .356 Win, .358 Win, .35 Whelen depending on your need and platform.
Sincerely,

Hobie

I going to stay with a 336 marlin.

I've got the information in the Ackley's handbook but i'm looking for someone that has used it.

Handloaders manual of cartridge conversions states case capacity of water for the 35 lever power is 60.22 grains compare to 35 rem at 51.76 and 356 win at 57.56.

30 lever power is 50.67 grains of water compared to 30-30 at 44.50 , 30-30 AI at 46.63 , 300 savage at 51.42 and 307 at 56.69.

So a if you want more case capacity in a 35 caliber the 356 would be a cheaper conversion because of die costs. At www.leveractions.com they do the conversion . I believe O.S.O.K. on this site had the conversion done on a 336 in 35 Rem for around $150.

Good Luck !
