OT: Birthday girls choice
In another thread I mentioned I'd been looking for a birthday present for my wife who's birthday is today. Since I had no imagination I asked her what she'd like to have. After quite a bit of thinking and cogitating she decided she wanted a knife. So I went to the local gun shop that has a good selection of knives and took a look see. Well ...... there were quite a few choices and I really had no idea of exactly what she was thinking of. So I decided to take her to the shop and let her choose it.
At her mid day break, ( she works split shift ) we went to the gun shop. She took a look at several knives and decided on a Kershaw 1660CKT. Here's the link to Kershaw's page: http://www.kershawknives.com/searchresu ... &x=50&y=15
I'd say my wife has pretty good taste in cutting tools.

Very nice birthday present for your wife. I recieved one as a gift in 2003. It is nice knife that is so thin you sometimes forget that you have it clipped in your pocket.

I really like the Leek myself. How is she going to carry it? In her purse? She might want to watch for awhile to make sure it doesn't open while in her purse.
My daughter wanted a knife so we visited one of the vendors that I regularly see at gunshows. She picked out a Benchmade Griptilian.
I bought my wife a small Spyderco and she carries it in her purse all the time. I have to remind her to take it out on the rare occasions when we fly commercially.

bj94,
She's got it in her pocket. The Leek has a little safety button on the end of the handle to prevent unwanted openings.
As sharp as that thing is, I think that's a good feature.

BJ94,
I carry a Spyderco Native, no serrations.
I think it is of the few Spyderco knives made in the USA.
The blade says Colorado, Earth on it.
