Carbide dies for .444 Marlin

Carbide dies for .444 Marlin

Which reloading dies for a .444 Marlin would not require lubricant? I have tried to find carbide dies, but manufacturers seem to give precious little info on whether carbide is available.

None are available, it is a tapered case. Just like the 45-70.

Like the 45-70, there is a little taper in the case and I believe that's why you will not find carbide dies for it.

Thanks Lefty & Blaine. I spent years reloading pistol calibers & have zero time on reloading for a rifle. I should be all set now.

Forget "regular" dies for the .444

Get a Lee Loader and Neck Size the buggers.

I'm almost as fast with a .45-70 Lee Loader as I am with a .45-70 Single Stage... and it's easier to handle/use ta boot.

I do not full length resize 45-70 cases, only neck size. Do the same with the .444, unless you are shooting the rounds in two different Rifles.

Whose neck sizing dies for .45-70 do you guys like? I think I'm gonna go that route. - DixieBoy

Try "partial full-length sizing" first. IOW, you only run the case far enough in the die to resize the neck (mostly). Might work just fine and save you some money.
