Marlin 1894 Cowboy Comp. .38 Special

Post by 1886 »

I ran into one of these in like new condition recently. No box or papers. I believe this rifle is no longer produced. I have not been able to find one on the various auction sites and I am wondering what these rifles have been selling for. Anyone have any experience? Thanks, 1886.

Gary,

The only one I've ever seen was pretty pricy. @ 800.00 or so. This particular rifle had a case hardened receiver. Don't know if that was original or not.

Hey J, The two CBC models, .38 and .45 were case colored and had factory tuned actions. Thanks, 1886.

I believe that you are correct, they do not make them anymore. I shot with one for about 6 months. I do not remember the original cost of the new rifle, but I sold it for about $550-600.
Not a bad rifle.

They are nice guns, I like mine. They are starting to fetch some high prices. They had two types of case coloring. An old natural looking color in the early production ones, then the very colorful striped looking kind in the later production ones. I prefer the original looking coloring but that's my preference. Either way the gun should shoot and work great.

Had I had the cash that day I probably would have tried to neg. the price down a little . If I remember right it was new in the box.
