An oldie but goodie. S&W I frame.

Post by Oldncrusty »

I eyeballed and fondled this thing for months, trying to resist, but my love for .32s and nickel won out. S&W .32 Hand Ejector. Second model, no change. Pre 5 screw. Made 1903 and 1904. Tight as a drum, very good bore. Cylinder face is spotless. Gonna run it by my smith, but I anticipate a test run soon.

.
Definitely a 'classic' and worth owning. Glad it found a good home.

I have my father's, non nickel though. I believe it's a later post war model. It's a very nice small revolver, completely useless for self defense, ( so the experts claim), but it was the service arm of the NYC police dept at one time... it's not a 45, but it's certainly capable.....

Very cool little revolver! I've been looking to add a 3" I or J frame smith in 32 long to my collection. Seems like the perfect thing to slip onto your pocket for evening strolls with the dog when porcupines are a concern.

Dunno about the gould comic strip but the nat levine/ ralph byrd serials the rare 1903 .38 self-loader predominates with a few scenes with what appears to be 1907 police positives.

I still have a Kodachrome dream memory of my sister and me prone in the backyard grass, watching Buck Rogers make a vertical rocket landing in our yard. The ground was shaking.

Something that couldn't reliably happen for seventy more years.

I saw the future in my dream ..... could be a lyric on the sound track I suppose
