POLITICS - SCOTUS Update

Post by Kismet »

Sorry if this was posted elsewhere, I only checked the first couple pages or so.

Just to perhaps create a little anticipation, the Supreme Court released 3 opinions today, leaving 7 cases from the past year yet to be decided. There are likely to be two more days releasing opinions. The first is Wednesday @ 10:00 a.m. Go to http://www.scotusblog.com for a good live text feed. If Heller is not released on Wednesday, it will probably be Thursday. This morning there was also an observation that Scalia is the only Justice that has not authored an opinion from the March session, during which Heller was heard. Who knows, if Scalia goes to work it might be particularly interesting...!

If Scalia authors the majority opinion in Heller, we are saved!!! :D

Conversely, if he authors a minority opinion, it's time for WAR!

Not yet. My bet is the announcement will be Thursday towards the end of the announcements. Even the SCOTUS has gone Hollywood - building up the suspense, as they know millions are waiting on this decision!

I merged this with Kismet's post on this very subject. Read above and you'll see some pertinent info...
