Alabama Tick Carcass

A friend of mine on another Forum posted a photo of an Alabama Tick carcass that he found in the woods. Apparently the Alabama Ticks .. when they hatch ... the babies eat their mother!

I guess this one was a young mother as it is kind of small.

I would try pointing out a younger more tender human than my old body and see if it would entice them to try someone else.

Knowing, or at least assuming this came from J.K. made me think of fort rucker and the massive rattlesnakes they are said to have down there. Then I looked up the base only to find out that they had renamed it. I certainly have nothing against mister novosel, the new namesake, but then again I didn't have any problems with mister rucker either.....

It was at Fort Rucker that, newly from Arizona, I learned that the Alabama State Bird is a gnat.
