Pre war to post war 94

Somebody asked on anouther site ,sure most know the main differences. But here were a few pics I took of the main change.
Pre war up through 1.4 mil + the model 94 receiver tang fit into a mortised inlet where wood met metal. Sides were tapered about 20 degrees. Somewhat fragile area.

Post war receivers were changed to eliminate this mortise.
It was replaced by flat shelf the tang sat on. Eliminated the hand fitting and made a more durable stock.

The change also devoid of tang peep sight hole and Winchester trademark

So the pre-war tang had 20º angles on the sides, and the inlet in the stock had a matching 20º angle, like a dovetail. And post-war, the sides of the tang were 90º and had a matching inlet in the stock?

Exactly , this was a major change to the receiver as it was easier to produce ,more durable , no fitting required .
As seen here on this 1892 tang ,which are fully interchangeable with prewar 1894 stocks.

The angle was just on the front portion on either side of hammer slot.
