It would also be more effective if the man was bare chested.I remember a story years ago wher a little kid was killed with a pellet rifle when he ran in front of his brother who was shooting a pellet gun.They little guy was bare chested at the time.I imagine it was a freak accident for the most part but that said I have Diana Mauser pellet rifle that shoots a pellet a 177 pellet at around 1150 fps so it is surely possible

I would guess shot in the heart maybe while not wearing a shirt or something similar

Gotta sneak between the ribs, otherwise an 8gr pellet would probably stop. Even at 1000+ fps. Unless it was one of those with the missile like pointy inserts...
My RWS 350 will break the sound barrier with light pellets. Last summer I had a pesky fox hanging around eyeballing my litter of puppies. Closest to hand was my RWS, a H&N hollow point pellet into the boiler room and close to 50yds was enough as it took about 3 steps and fell over. I was surprised!
