Can't help ya , I've never heard of a
5¹/² powder so I'd venture to guess it's 5¹/² drams. Is that a 10 or your 8 bore?

A gentleman on the Parker/Fox/Smith/Remington web sites is kind of a historian with many many catalogs etc downloaded on his PC . If I’m not mistaken he had all this stuff on micro film before PC’s became the norm. Anyway he says these are late 8 gauge shells post 1931 and that particular shell is loaded with 5 1/2 drams of bulk smokeless powders .
