Barrel Dovetail dimensions on Puma vs. Marlin?

My factory sights I've removed from the two makers don't interchange at all (I'm away from my gun safe now, but one or the other basically slides through and falls out of the dovetail due to rather great dimensional differences).

Is there a different "standard" for the Puma - metric or something? I was going to order a few dovetail blanks, but it appears I may have to custom make them. Anyone know the dimensions or if there are blanks that size available?

They are commonly larger than 3/8" and yes, many custom make them. If it were me, I wouldn't worry about it. I have the blanks on some but not all my rifles.

Betcha' NKJ (Steve Young) has Puma blanks - or knows where to get them!

you can also put a little shim under a 3/8th's.
but if you gotta order them may as well get the right size

Yep, I've cut a small piece out of a soda can to put under the blank to snug things up.
