I received a Surprise package in the mail the other day.

Post by JimT »

It was from a good friend and contained 50 Starline .41 Magnum brass cartridges! Now he didn't know but more than 90% of all the brass I have for the .41 are Starline! How cool is that?

So I thought I might as well load them. BUT .. when I checked I had only 27 bullets! I was planning on loading them with my NEI 230 grain flat point cast bullet ... so I dug out the mold and started. It didn't take long and I had dropped about 300. When they were cooled I sized and lubed them. Then this morning I sat down and loaded brass.

This bullet has proven accurate over the years .... as long as I do my part!!

I sure like that custom .41 mag of yours! It's beautiful, shoots small groups and provides meat.....what more could a guy want?

Very good shooting! Somedays just seem to be better than others... As my mentor explained to me... the more you practice, the fewer "off days" happen! I had two friends in CAS that used .41 Rugers and a Marlin 1894 in .41 Mag. They loved them. Unfortunately, they left them in their car overnite outside their motel room and were stolen. Very hard to replace, even back in the late 1980s.

Jim, looking back over your post, that is really a doozy of a mold. I ordered a couple from Walt Mellander before he passed. Good stuff.

Just about 16gns of 2400 works in many many cases. Lovely powder 😎
