OT-Ruger Single Six Old Model

Post by ceb »

Saw this Single Six in a pawn shop this afternoon. The serial no. dates it to 1972 and it has both cylinders. Probably a 85% gun and is unconverted. They had it tagged at $349, but offered to me at $300 otd. Already have a Smith model 17 and a MKII Ruger Target so don't really NEEED another .22 but.............. watch ya think?

Since when does "need" have anything to do with firearms?

GET IT NOW! An uncoverted "old model" in 85% condition - with both cylinders - for $300? Sound investment, even with shooting and enjoying it!!! :D

You can't have too many 22 pistols. There is no doubt about that.

You won't regret buying....but you might kick yourself for not.

I would say $300 by Mid Michigan standards is a very good price.

Why does anyone post here thinking we'd say "No, don't get it!"

Seriously, that's not a bad price and it is a neat gun and you can't have too many .22s.
Sincerely,

Hobie

I think it is more of the "see honey, I checked with various firearms experts I know and they all agree that this was a good investment."

He says from first hand experience!

1972, you call that old?

Last week we had a fellow bring one in to get it appraised for his insurance. I was about the same condition as yours. The two other customers (regulars, so we knew they were serious) started offering the guy $$$. The one other guy left but the original owner and the second guy struck a deal ... $285 ... it only had the Long Rifle cylinder, the original box and receipt.

The price you were quoted was OK.
