I finished BLACK RANGE TALES by James McKenna yesterday
and seriously enjoyed it. Having been in that country some and living in places mentioned always makes things interesting. And I love history by people who lived it! Also noted his comments about Cerro Gordo in California. Being there is a young man there now trying to bring it back alive, and having watched some of his videos exploring the old mines, I found that interesting. For those that love history of the old west I recommend this book and and thankful for being pointed toward it.

Gamekeeper, do you ever watch videos by a fella who goes by The History Chap? Some pretty good info on British history.

Yes I have watched quite a few of his videos the last one was about What happened to Colour Sergeant Bourne after Rork's Drift. I must confess I watch a lot more American history videos.

Maybe because you learned your history in school and I learned ours. So it’s new to us.gamekeeper wrote: ↑Sat Oct 14, 2023 1:08 am Yes I have watched quite a few of his videos the last one was about What happened to Colour Sergeant Bourne after Rork's Drift. My copy arrived today from Maryland, it's second hand and without the dust cover but the book looks perfect and I'm looking forward to reading it, modern times are so depressing I can't get enough history..
