Did this one several months ago (hopefully I haven't already posted on it!). Bought an inexpensive holster at Etsy for my Pietta 1860 Army "snub-nose".
First thing I put the gun in a ziplock, then soak the holster. Shake the excess water out, and insert the gun into the holster. Then rub the holster to form it around the shape of the gun.
Nice belly guns, fellas! Jay, it looks like that holster is cut for crossdraw, right?
I usually wrap my handgun in cling wrap for wet molding. Hadn't thought of a bag ...
I used to grease the gun, and put Saran wrap on it, but decided to try the plastic bag. The additional thickness actually makes it easier to draw the gun after the holster has been formed.
