Ravens are extremely smart birds. Very long lived as well.
There was a pair that nested across the street in a hay barn, every spring I tried my best to sneak a chick out of the nest. No matter what I tried the parents would see me and give me a good reprimand and wing beating!
I read a story of a scientist that raised a clutch of ravens, he treated one bad the others good. That 1 never liked the guy for the rest of its/ his days- it KNEW he was the bad guy by sight. ( something like that anyhow).
