How bout that? It's actually a shotgun sling, but it should work fine on your levergun - I just bought a Texan too (1954) and I think this is what I'll go with for it... it's at http://www.dixiegunworks.com under "shooting supplies" section. There are other options too - just go there and check around if you're interested.

I'd think so, but there are ways to mount a stable sling without buggering the barrel or stock.

Get a forearm band with sling stud on it directly from Marlin, then get a leather Butt-cuff from one of the members here.

That way, if you decide to sell it, you just replace the forearm band with the original and remove the cuff. No damage :wink:
...and I don't think he even knows it...Walks around with a half-assed grin...If he feels fear, he don't show it. Just rides into hell and back again.

I'm not sure, but, if you're going to shoot it anyway, I doubt it. But, meanc has a great idea there.

I'm with MeanC on this one. No rubbing on bbl. with the sling and you can always return it to it's original form if need be.
