Drive through window...

Naah, I'll go in to the bank.
Had a check to deposit and another to cash.
As I'm standing there I notice not one but 2 SILVER half dollars sitting in the change tray.
So I said to my old friend Mary- when you are done with the transaction let's talk about those 50 cent peices.
Well I hand over a Washington and get a 1965 and a 1966 darn near mint solid silver 50 cent peices.
I am going to weigh them and see what silver is going for these days- I bet they are close to an oz each!

You should not have any trouble selling the '65 for $5 to $6 and the '66 for $4. Not near as much silver there as you would think. Double those values for an average 1964.

Coin values.com say these are only 40% silver but the melt value is about $3.40 each.
Guess I'll have to stick them with my roll of mercury dimes and Morgan dollars , might need them to buy bread someday :o

I worked at a dollar theater in college, and we used to take in several half-dollar and dollar coins each day. I would always immediately exchange them for my paper money. Not a ton of pre-1964 stuff, but I always liked bigger coins, so it didn't matter to me! :D

1965-1970 Kennedy halves are 40% silver, .1479 Troy oz each, about seven in a Troy ounce. A roll is around seventy some bucks retail.
I only got six clad Ike bicentennial dollars at face last week at the bank
