OT - Afghan Experiment
What weapons would I take to hunt Osama Bin Laden assuming he is still in the Afghan-Pakistan area?

Re: Afghan Experiment
Hmm. This would have to be a custom made rifle. I would take a Remington M700 chambered in 338 Win Mag that has had the action smoothed and a really great trigger job. I'd have it pillar bedded and a synthetic stock painted gray and tan to match the arid conditions of that place. I am not sure if this can be done but I would like to have it as a 10 shot detachable box magazine. Have one for the gun and three loaded mags in a day pack. A hooded front sight and a removable peep for the rear in case something happened to the Leupold scope. I believe a good 4-12 power would be called for.
For a sidearm, I would want a suppressed Ruger Mk II in 22 lr . It could be used for many things.

"Dirty" Harry Callahan, John Rambo, The Dirty Dozen, Chuck Norris from "Good Guys Wear Black"(cant remember character name), and as a wildcard Harry Potter.
Re: OT - Afghan Experiment
I think they have it covered with JDAMs on call, 105s, some M24s and a bunch of motivated (and due to the recent prison break) fired up USMC types...

Kill the lawyers first, they're the reason bin lyin is alive, if he really is alive. Me, I think he's been dead for a long time and his buddies just wave his hand once in a while and fake his voice. I think the rat is already in hell.
Re: OT - Afghan Experiment
I guess the M4 and the M9 have the most votes! Given a choice; I would have carried the M4 and my .45 Auto. Combat Commander. If I was by myself; I would have carried an AKM and a FN Hi-power under cover to fit in.

Re: OT - Afghan Experiment
IMO Bin Laden is dead already.....he realized a long time ago that being taken alive was not something he could tolerate & that he was more valuable to the cause as a ghost then as a martyr....he is known to have issued orders to his bodyguards to kill him to prevent his capture and to disfigure his body to prevent identification. I am certain he knows that would not be enough as we would use gentics to positively ID his remains.
TB, pneumonia, kidney disease, assorted tropical illnesses, or a power play within his organization more than likely ended his days already. He likely lays in the back of those caves moldering away.
Wm
P.S. If I were hunting him though I think whatever I shot him would be a pig fat greased bullet.

Yep. I would get as close as possible and tell them to aim for me. It would be worth it.Rusty wrote:A SAT phone and a GPS.

Re: OT - Afghan Experiment
If the methods employed by General John J. "Blackjack" Pershing to put down the Islamic uprising in the Phillipines were to be used in Afghanistan, several anti-American politicians in Washington D.C. would be screaming for the General's head on a silver platter. The troops would just be vilified and an attempt would be made to put them in jail. The Taliban uses our culture and religion against us, and our politicians say we are the bad people. The Soldiers on the ground have my respect, but I believe that many of our politicians should be made to go over there and try to protect their own worthless carcasses. If I were there as a civilian, I would hunt Bin Laden with a Barnes X Bullet filled with dried pig blood and covered with a drop of epoxy glue to make it stay in place until impact. The caliber and weapon to be determined by what I can get. I would never do this as a soldier because that would give some of our worthless politicians more reason to hate our great men and women in uniform. Not all politicians are worthless, but if you throw a stone into a pack of dogs, the one which yelps is usually the one which was hit.

Re: OT - Afghan Experiment
Yep, Ole Blackjack, had a few ideas. Too bad they didn't work. Best we ever got in the southern islands was an uneasy stand off. Of course, the Spanish hadn't done any better down that way, and the poor Japanese just plain got their heads (literally) handed to them. The only good thing to come out of that was the realization that the .38 revolver wasn't quite up to snuff.

I'm thinking a dull, rusty spoon covered in pig poop. Stick it right in his eye and twist!
Okay, I know that was not very Christian-like, but I am a mere mortal and a flawed one. I would do the above in a hearbeat given the chance!

Guys before you let go with the nukes let me know so I can get out of here. We have all the weapons we could possibly use here, if you guys would be so kind as to take care of the politicians who have stopped the last two attempts we would finish the job.

Don't need to nuke DC. Just need to have those seated there read and actually follow the oath of office they took.
