Re: Winchester 1885 low wall rimfire
I've never even seen one IRL, but I'd like one too. I do have the Low Wall in 45 Colt, it's a sweetheart of a little rifle.

I have one in .17 HMR that is a very fine rifle -- well made, and very accurate (scoped, of course).barbarossa wrote: ↑Tue Jun 13, 2023 4:10 pm Anyone shoot one of the Miroku Winchester1885 low rim fire in 22lr, I m interested in picking one up for rabbit hunting
As for the .22 LR version, a friend at a gun clun had one that he had rebarreled, but he was after dime-sized or less groups and if I recall, he didn't spend much time testing different 22 loads to see what shot best. But then, he was always modifying almost every gun he had, so I would not say this has to be done. If you want one, get it, test different loads, and maybe experiment with different forearm placements on the rest (or palm of your hand) to see what accuracy you can get out of it.
Good luck!

I have one I use for Long Range Smallbore Rifle Silhouette competition. It has been re-barreled with a 27" bull barrel and has a trigger job to lighten the pull. It weighs 11 lbs. with the MVA scope.
