Not one for bragging....

Post by Nath »

....but I shot this target today at 150 good paces, not Zimmer frame steps!
Forend rested on a tripod only.

Good shooting Nath. On the practical side not much point in anything beyond 3. Might even do a first shot on three separate days.

Nath,
“Bragging” is what the rich man/ boss man / officer / owner / college educated tells the poor man that what he is talking about is unethical…… It’s a psychological thing to hopefully keep us regular folk a step lower.

The rich man can run his mouth and expects “ahhhhhhh, you’re so great Mr Rich Man and I sure wish I could be you”…..but if we do it, we is “bad man”.

Nath, that is mighty fine shooting and don’t forget, those m. er’s are no better than we are as if push comes to shove we will eat em up.

I do it everyday with the folk I hang with……just ask Jay…(Old Win) you get these rich folk in a regular bar and they won’t last a minute…..

Keep on shootin’ bro….——006

"Zimmer frame steps", that right there is funny. For those Not-In-The-Know, a Zimmer Frame is what we on the other side pond call a walker.

So that's what a Zimmer frame is ...
Nath, more minute-of fox. I believe Jim T likes that bullet you are using.

That's fine shooting with the 30-30 round!
I've always heard lever action had no accuracy.

.
….my best shooting is my one-shot groups…

I do like the idea of ‘cold-bore’ first shot being dead-on as a ‘gold standard’ for the shooter and the hunting gun’s potential.

Bump that to the ten-shot group if you want a bar to set for a target rifle and even better shooter.

There’s nothing magic about ten or five or three, other than three at least gives a ‘tiebreaker’ for the lowly two-shot group. Plus that third may give a clue as to if you have two consistent shots and a ‘flyer’, vs three shot evenly spaced as a ‘group’ vs that elusive ‘cloverleaf’.

All that theory aside, I’d say the group you shot reflects a gun and shooter plenty capable of hunting and protecting, and having fun at the range. 8)
