I shot one of those 25 years ago……serial number 00021….tried to buy it and offered the guy a G for it……tried…..

Ahhh... the M-1. "Greatest battle implement ever devised." Can't disagree with General Patton. I like mine, it's just like it came from Springfield Armory in 1943. First rifle I ever fired. Heck, it might even be the same rifle! (Never memorized the serial number). Boot Camp, 1970, 200 yard range; score: 309 out of 320, standing, kneeling, sitting & prone. All I did was execute the instructors lesson... not perfectly, but well enough!
