It appears to be all over the internet but S&W has announced its intention to sell Thompson Center Arms. Hopefully someone with deep pockets will buy it and keep it afloat.
New edit, its far worse than I thought, and probably the ultimate demise of T/C.
I talked with a gal at S&W last summer after wondering why there were no receivers available. She said T/C has been for sale for a while and that production had ended over a year before, I think it was.
T/C has been for sale by S&W since spring 2021. They haven't made any T/C products since then.
With no buyer in that time, I'm not optimistic someone is going to jump on it.
The TC saga saddens me going back a good few years. I have three old TC traditional muzzleloaders and miss the good old days when they had a dozen or so traditional models to choose from. No, they weren't historically correct, but they had solid traditional roots and were a good quality product. Nowadays for more traditional MLs it's either very cheap of very expensive. TCs absence has left a void
What are you getting? The rights to a brand name that you ran into the ground and killed? Technical packages for items you killed what small market interest there was by not producing any. A darn shame.

Tough to find a buyer for... nothing.

Cas nailed it. A very sad story that reflects poorly on S&W. There is almost nothing to sell. -Tutt

And with that being said I have a Contender frame with 10” 357 MAX and 6.5 TCU barrels as well as dies and brass THAT WILL hit the market as soon as I’m back in the country
