Which model levergun would make a good paddle?
I'm thinking 1886 with a shotgun stock and crescent butt plate. possibly with a oct barrel

Without a doubt it would have to be the Savage 99.WCF3030 wrote:Which model levergun would make a good paddle?

Sounds like the Henery might be the do all lever.meanc wrote:True story, and happened less than 2 months ago.
I took my son with me down Cypress creek which is a couple of miles down the road. This is often backed up with lillys and whatever other vegetation, and the neighbors and I all refer to it as "stuff" creek.
Well, my boat motor didn't die, but my trolling motor battery did. And a little more than 3/4 of a mile from the Jeep. While getting all the fishing gear ready I realized I had forgotten to pack the oar.![]()
All I had with me was my 16" Henry 22lr. About an 1hr 45min later, we were at the launch.
Needless to say all sorts of stuff made it into the action and chamber and mag tube. My freshly Tru-oiled stock was all tore up. Since the Henry is only 16" my hands were blistered and scraped from the front sight post on the barrel.
Thank goodness I packed water and snacks as it was close to 100deg and my son wasn't too happy.
Anyway, it's a definitely a mistake I'll never make again.

Swimming and pushing a boat ashore all depends on whether there are critters in the water that could eat you! I can always get another gun! Thank goodness in Kalipornia there are no gators. But occassionally we get to see Greenpeace saving Rosie O' Donnell from being stranded in the shallows!dr walker wrote:ouch, kinda funny though. I've had to jump in behind the boat and kick the boat home. I hope you tore the Henry down and dried it out.
You might want to write the story into Henry, I think they would really get a kick out of it.
