The coldest day I ever hunted. It was -1 at daybreak and only about 13 by noon. I was al but leaving when I saw a movement from the right at about 100 yards coming in out of a draw. Thinking it was a doe, I watched for a while until I decided to take a look through the scope. It was a spike so I pulled the trigger...meat in the freezer.
Between 30 to 40 yards...double lung. A little further aft than desired and a tad higher than desired but the 44-40 got it done.

Re: Redemption Hunt!
Congrats. Well done! I wish I could use my 44-40 here in Ohio but it's far too powerful and I'm forced to use a 45-70. the ODNR really has it's act together. .
