Stalking tomorrow but today was a practice.
It was a ringnecks white ring that caught my eye.
50yards away in tall grass he was watching me.
I leveled up on him and fired. Bird down! Perfect neck shot. Next up was a big fat male squirrel. He came to check me out. It was windy today and he wasn't sure what we were. Big mistake. A 150gn reversed bullet cracked his noggin! Now the pheasant and the squirrel was good but the shot of the day was the crow! A 75 paces shot off hand, straight across the pinions! The above were shot with bullets unsuitable for 30-30 in a levergun on Alliant Herco but I'm slowly creeping up the charge cautiously to favour the sights but watching out for a spike in pressure. Today I tested a few on an increase of .3 of a grain. Better but I think I'll go a bit more.
The first went low so I raised the front sight for shot two but the wind blew on me as I fired so it went left. The next two landed on the target perfectly.
So there you go. Hope you enjoyed the walk with me
