The guy behind the counter was bringing a good-looking lever action to the floor.
A 92% to 95% pre safety Marlin R.C.
I checked it out thoroughly, the gentleman let me pull the bolt.
The bore was perfect! Lands and groves were crisp like the rifle were made yesterday!
To top it off it was in 35 Remington! Years ago, I had one that I had to sell to pay an insurance bill.
It has a Lyman peep site on it. After checking the ser.# it was made in 1954.
Looks like it was hunted with a few times, shot very little.
Long story short, I'm drinking a few Guinness and breaking this vintage beauty down for a good cleaning!
I picked it up for $695.00. I'm pretty happy with that price! These days a decent vintage lever action is a grand at least!
The boys at my shop are looking for some 35 Remington for me.
I'm dying to shoot this one! Marlins and Winchesters are my Kryptonite!
Enjoy your Sunday afternoon gentleman!
Johnny
