I would have just been wasting ammunition doing that unless I was sitting at a bench. That guy is a really steady shot...!
1160 yards is 3480 feet so if the barrel is 24" long, each movement of the barrel is magnified by 1740x....so the 24" wide target he was shooting at required him to keep the muzzle within less than 0.014" relative to the receiver/rear of the barrel.
I don't even see how that is physically possible when standing, although you see people do it. Obviously he was missing more than hitting but he was often within a target-width so with a three-target-width hit zone he would still be holding the muzzle less than 0.05" off from the breech.
by the way did you notice the way he had the sight attached...??

Yes, no more dovetail cutting or drilling and tapping for me!
Double sided tape for all my sight fitting from now on!
