Kentucky Hunting
I recently retired and moved to Kentucky. Currently getting the homestead fixed up, but am thinking of getting out to hunt sometime soon.
I don't quite understand the difference between WMA's and National Forests. Any advice?
thanks

El Chivo, what is he doing back here
we have a new guy here from Kentucky, Black Mountain area.

Re: Kentucky Hunting
Get you a Ky Hunting guide, the spring issue is probably still on the Walmart counters? Laws best I know, there's plenty of both, WMA and National Forest, most all them open to all hunting, BUT I think the specifics of most them are or can be very different, but the guides cover each well! I've never had to worry about it here, I mostly hunt either private or public, but even here there's 4-5 wma, but I do t really use them, except a couple that I used too. You can go on line @ fw.ky.gov and see all this. You need to know the specifics of the wma or National Forest you're on!
I think most wma's are open to hunting, but not real knowledgeable of National Forest? Except the Daniel Boone National Forest covers near a 1/4? of the east-central part of state, buts its open mostly, I used to hunt it, but you got to know the area laws.

Forgive my lack of manners! Welcome to the Happy

I remember you can go to the web site, download maps with regulations for each wma. National Forest IDK?

Miss Kentucky
Great looking start El Chivo. I recall the day we explored that dam off San Francisquito.

Re: Kentucky Hunting
thanks Tutt, have you been going to the 1,763 yd range?
Had to get out of California; I'd spend five or six dollars on some lady and in would walk an alpha male from the High Desert and they'd take off in his red pickup truck. It was getting old.
