I have an early regular sporter (77/22R). Very accurate. A bit muzzle light for my taste when scoped . Trigger was a bit heavy. I got it as a Christmas present in the mid 80s. I put a Dayton Traister trigger in the early 2000s. Extremely accurate with Win Power Points and CCI SGB. My only 22 rifle until pretty recently. That full length stock should help the balance

I think they are really pretty. But I have no experience with them.

My 77/22 All-Weather is very light and accurate, and I put a NECG aperture sight on it that fits the Ruger ring base. Never had the long-stock type.

I have the 10/22 Ruger RSI and it is good enough for me, but all I have done is some informal plinking. I have heard some have experienced issues with the RSI or the International Rugers. Some claim accuracy issues because of the Nose Cap. Richard Mann (outdoor writer) wrote an article years back of how he floated the barrel on a M77 RSI (.284 cal I believe) and then relieved metal from the nose cap so that it did not have issues. Either way, it should not be anything that cant be resolved.

Don't have one of those, but do have a M77RSI in 308 that I bought back when they first came out and really like it except for one small problem, it's kinda ammo sensitive in that unless the cartridge is pretty much all the way forward in the magazine it jams up some. Other than that it handles pretty good. HTH

I dont have an RSI but I do have an early 77/22. I recently installed a new Shilen SS factory contour barrel with a tight match chamber that is extremely accurate!

My 77 also wears a fancy stock of Claro walnut.

Does Claro walnit mean that a dog named Claro chewed on it? 8)
Nice looking wood.

No but the dog is named for the wood! Claro is a cross breeding of walnuts. Its not as desirable by some but most times its much prettier! Who doesn't like pretty walnut?

I had a CZ452 FS 22LR for awhile and it shot exceptionally well . Now the only mannlicher stocked guns I have are all Mannlicher Schoenauer except for one custom built 98 Mauser .
