20 gauge auto : M2 , SX4

Post by TraderVic »

Looking at these two 20 gauge autoloaders for upland hunting (grouse, woodcock and pheasant).
The Benelli M2 is an inertia gun and the Winchester SX4 is a gas gun.
Any of you folks have experience with either or both of these shotguns ?
Thank, Vic

I had a benelli a while ago. Uber simple and user reliable.
A friend has an sx4 and loves it.
Both good choices.
Personally I would choose out of the two what felt right.

I have a NIB Benelli M2, but am wrestling with whether to let it go and order a gas gun (less recoil) after several shoulder surgeries on my strong side. Probably overthinking this..

PillHer has a gas operated semiauto in 20 gauge. It gets a bit dirty as compared to an inertia action. Nothing bad. Just a bit of cleaning and routine maintenance is required. A few hundred rounds in a day will clean up in half an hour or less while watching TV.

Make the choice based on which one fits you the best. You cannot go wrong with either one.
