Man ..is it cold here....16 with the wind blowin' . I put the rements of a chicken outside the door and the fox runs up to about 5' and then the dogs start barking and the fox runs out in the yard and sits in the ice......

Earlier, I was wondering where our 2 outside cats were as we have not seen them.....went out to the little barn, which is open and the cats are in my giant silencer sleeping. Put some cat food out there as they won't come in the house...semi feral....

Mom came home yesterday with all of this Home cooked Amish food......I dug into the ham and beans tonight .....an hour later and I started blasting and it ain't stopped...that was three hours ago.....those Amish must really sing the tunes when they are home. Here, I put out a few notes from "you ain't nuttin but a hound dog".

Im hittin' it bro....2:25 new time....---00

I remember my grandmother having a wringer washer. The first time I remember seeing it in action I was fascinated.
These new stack on washer dryer combos are such junk, we just set up a pair for a homeowner, the hose connections on the units are plastic!
Gee I thought you guys in Maine were still taking laundry down to the river and beating your clothes on a rock? :D

Yes cold and blowing, 15 here, finally feels like winter!

Stupid time change AGAIN!
Well last day to blast birds, taking Claro and Parker today. Means Claro is going hunt fast as she doesn't like competition and Parker will just act like a dingbat!

I'm gonna tell ya boys......
When you have about a 15 hour day, and then tack on setting the clocks ahead an hour, and then drive 52 miles home on ice and snow......
Yeah, that sucks.

Well, at least I will get less sleep today before doing it again.

Told ya to think in German

So at the last minute I decided to just bring Claro. I probably should have taken Parker instead as she isn't as gung-ho and will actually flush a bird instead of grabbing it like Claro does and with chukar its worse BUT Claro is my right hand and she lives for birds so that was the deciding point. Was a good hunt, I took 2 shots for my brace of birds, another guy got 1 and Claro got 3 all by herself. Once a chukar is in her clutches it'll never fly again. Not all labradors are soft mouthed!
Then we had our end of season BBQ, buffalo pheasant, fresh chukar on the grill, burgers & hot dogs. Now to S,S& Shave and clean guns.

Glad you had a good end of season hunt.... :D

Fred, I used one similar to that in my teens for wacking down real tough vegetation.... 8)

Driving on ice and snow drains the brain...you have to stay focused....talking on the phone for more than 15 minutes does the same for me as when you can't hear well, you have to stay focused and that drains me......

That old '57 Gravely was a rich man's toy back in the day......some of them came with a little sulky (sic?)

I was just imagining hunting in this weather......yea, I'm old.

On a good note, mom told me a bit ago, "hey! We's rich n".... our accountant called and said we are getting back the 2K I paid in taxes when I bought the Kubota Zero Turn last year.......I did really good on my 401 last year and pulled out 10k in interest but they withheld 2K. .....and I'm getting it back! Yep, I'm poor........Feds feel sorry for me with my income .......but I'm just a bit over the poverty level to get food stamps or I'd do that too....except for stimulus checks I never took a free dime from any government entity but after learning what others do, I will now.

Big deal.....county taxes came in last week and half of it will go back to the ones who have their hands out....then the big school tax in three months......I'm going back to bed....

Those Gravelys were a real work horse, 30 plus attachments. Contrary to a rich man’s toy this was a farming and country area. They did have that sulky. Mower was pretty heavy duty. They also had a tiller. I went one quite a few demos with my dad and overhauled on in the lawnmower shop that wasn’t treated to well.

Sounds like a good day Gunny! BBQ sounds good too!

Those Graveleys were good rigs. Don't see many around anymore.

Just gotta get through tonight. Get some stuff together tomorrow and get ready for a ride with my buddy. Be the lat one of the season most likely. I hardly rode this year. Oh well.
Be time to get the Jeeps out soon. Then the old Harley.

I can remember seeing 2 of those Gravely machines. One as a kid & didn't pay it any attention. A neighbor had it. The 2nd was a few years ago, saw a guy plowing a sidewalk with it.

STOP THE MADNESS!

Yep a real life bbq. One of the guys brews his own beer, brought along a little keg. Good beer. He and a couple guys stayed and finished it causing a phone call to me because he couldn't get the door to lock! ( I put in a new push button deadbolt) I even wrote the instructions on the door, too many inebriated brain cells to read i guess?

Gunny went to a barbecue?

We have to go pick up the taxes.....about 8 miles......the dogs are jumping all over the place ...they heard the word, "Jeep" and that means "ride time".

Nice weather for a change..

How come Gunny gets to have all the fun...I wanna go to a barbecue too....that where you get to show off your fancy guns.....I was thinking of having a special holster made for the BAR ....maybe a cross draw shoulder holster under the arm or an ankle holster.---00

No I didn't drain the keg, but 3 of the club guys did! I left 3 hours before they couldn't figure out how to lock the door!!! I dont drive if I have more than 1 drink. Last time I drank that much beer was back in '91, I lost 4 hours of the day even though I was conscious!!!!

Well I just finished cleaning my fouling peices, im trying a new lube, ProLix, supposed to creep & crawl then dry as a lube. On the fence with it.

No Claro its not time to eat yet!

I usually save that for Six, but when you're a CPI thread member, you're in the club! :D

Gotta get ready for our big ride tomorrow. They got 16 inches of snow in Jackman from this last little dust up. Think we may ride over the the Pittston Farm for lunch.
If I don't make it back, don't bother calling dibs on my guns. My kids will already have them. You should probably make inquiries into the "accident". I wouldn't put it past those boys. :D

I felt outta place being an Anglo. .........BUT...they had my style of watch! Yep! a Timex for $39.92 plus a well made Chinese band for 11.98!!!!!!'

There!!!! HOWDA like DAT!!!!! It's great having lots of money......if I was really rich like Old Savage I could get a watch off the guy with the long coat on......

Speaking of guys with long coats on and then they flip them open to reveal 100 watches..........well, coming out of the Walmart this guy came up to me and says, "hey buddy, I saw you looking at the watches in the store and I just got this trade in from a guy on the golf course in California. He was in a gold plated golf cart and he wanted a new watch so he traded this one in"...he offered me a discount so I bought Old Savages old watch for $1,000.

It's a real deal Rolex.

You. I may have it bronzed.

On another note, there's a lot of sneaky stuff going on right now in Ukraine.........NATO or not, civilians are being targeted along with a leveling of a peaceful country.......innocents are being killed......we need to send a message.

That no good Pelosi is wishy washy. I guess millions of dollars coming to her and her buddies is more important than thousands of children being killed...or it sure seems like that......republicans are no better....

True? If so, meetings around lunchtime must be noisy.--006

Not only the Brits! In little France ( Quebec) ya get beans with your chicken fruit. I believe a good portion of Europe does as well but don't quote me on that... Beans are cheap, filling and good for you so it only makes sense.

Back when I wore a timex I'd be luck to get a year from one. Not batteries or bands - I break the bezel where the band attaches. That's when I went solid titanium.

Just another reason I don't go to Walmart, now a foreign country.

Six I'm theorizing the reason why nato hasn't stepped in is all part of the master plan for reducing the world population, picking up where covid failed.

I see Fred has an "Expedition" Timex with indiglo......Gunny......you must live waaaaayyyy hard....I live hard and I got 15 years out of it...somewhere around that number....put four or five batteries in it...and it still works.

I have my Rolex/Timex in a class case. The Smithsonian is picking it up for their display of famous people.

Here's my expedition.....next to the famous 15 year old one
