Ya see Jay....educated people need reasons to make any movement........regular stupid people have fun talking and doing nothing.......Jerry Seinfeld made millions and millions on a show about nothing.....that's what the P.I. thread is about ...nothing...at least it is to me.....no different than sitting on a bar stool yapping...nothing...

But..........BUT......once in a while seriousness takes a front seat, especially when it comes to ME. NOW, ON TO BUSINESS......

I took this motor off of the joiner...it's a one horse but high amp motor...very powerful for a one horse......BUT.......

it revolves clockwise and other motors I switched the rotation on had a diagram....this one does not....I even typed in the model number and got the same motor but the colors were different........can an expert like you or Gunny solves this? What wires do I need to switch to change the rotation? If it was a cheap motor I'd take chances but on this one it's a $350 motor and I might burn out the capacitor if I switch it wrong.........Mr. Excommunicater......

Be Nice......

When the whole dust up started, a few months back.
I don't know as it can be attributed to any single person. It was, however, the message sent to all us undesirables. Just to "be nice". I think there were whole threads devoted to it.
What irks me is that it sounds so good but what it really is is so the "leaders" don't have to do anything. I have lived that here at work for 30 years. So, in essence, the subversive game players get to go on unchecked. Because they sound so "nice".

Nobody wants to hear the real problem. They just want everyone to "be nice". It is truly one our times greatest evils.

Hence....my sig line.

Re: Chairmen of the Politically Incorrect

It's really about the context.

See, in cases like that, "be nice" doesn't mean to say hello to someone you pass on the street.
"Be nice", in a case like we are talking about, means "shut up". Stop shining a light on something we don't want to see. It's no different than political correctness or censorship.

The liberals didn't like Trump cause he wasn't "nice". What that really means is that they didn't like him cause he was honest. He was telling the truth instead of what sounded "nice".

Obama was so nice. He always had a big smile and smooth talk while he was jamming it up your rear and snapping it off.

Anyway. I hope that clears up your confusion on the subject, OS. I didn't want to post this on someone else's thread and derail it.
See......? That wouldn't have been nice.....in the real sense of the word.

Have you ever noticed that people really appreciate your honesty.....until you're honest with THEM?
George Carlin said that. One of my heros. As a matter of fact.....I think he has a whole thing on "Nice". He felt just like me.

Yes Jay........that's what "being nice" is all about....control of the narrative ......another old time way saying it is "don't rock the boat" even if your rocking the boat "nicely".

My Jay Bird was stolen and I ain't stopping until I get him back or banned...I don't care......of course, if I was "nice" I might get him back.....under conditions....

I'm watching the "Walton's" ....they got some ugly people on there, all buck toothed and ears that look like radar dishes.

......I traveled the circuit on cowboy action all over eastern Pa in the nineties and 5 years or so after.....the range officers were very "powerful" and talked sternly.....at the end of the day b.s.en they were meek. They went home they were meek and were probably meek at work.

Six, I don't have an idea what to tell you about the wiring, I've not had a reason to switch a motor like that. You would have to talk to someone that does eletric motor work. It could be as simple as swapping the neutral and the black...?

What did I miss this time? All this nice talk ?

Some truth there on the power quote but like most generalizations it is not entirely true.

OW … “So, in essence, the subversive game players get to go on unchecked. Because they sound so "nice".”

Exactly a problem. Akin to the guy that throws the second punch in a sporting event gets hit with h the penalty.

You can probably find all kinds of analogies in football, baseball, basketball.

Then there are those that want to make up their own rules.

And it's all over "Jay Bird".......it was deemed by the powers that I did not "need" a second handle........YES, I need and want Jay Bird BACK. Like, Who the F. decides the elimination of a double handle? "Ooooooooooo, I'm powerful, I'll fix that Sixgun and take away his friend!....ooooooooo

When others are out and about doing their own business I have someone to talk to.....sometimes me and Jay Bird go back and forth......but nnnnnooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo, people who don't make a dime at their .05 "job" deleted Jay Bird and then rub it in my face. I don't have to explain myself

And the root of all of this evil is Rossi's....it was a way of peeing me off. Well, let me make this clear, Rossi's are j.u.n.k. and I'd rather have a piece of caliber specific rusty conduit nailed to a 2x4 then whack it with a hammer......at least it'll work.

Here Fred......this one is for YOU......straight out of the mouth of Elmer Keith.....45 LONG COLT

It's NOT slang.......I would up it to "educated slang"........it's 1908 and you walk into a hardware store and ask the clerk for a box of cartridges for your Colt single action army....(they didn't have Italian Piettas or ubertis in those day) The clerk hands you a box of the aforementioned cartridges in elmers book so you had better be smart and tell him, "NO! The long ones!" .."I'm hunting bear, not squirrels!" and the customer continues....."and get to it, quick like a bunny"

Speaking of Piettas I'm going to get the last laugh when Alec Baldwin goes to trial for involuntary manslaughter. I could not get a primed case to fire in any Colt or Ruger new model or old model...unless my finger was on the trigger.

Thanks Gunny on your effort.......no rush.....

Jay.....yep....like who gives a %.....you, me, GK, and Gunny can sit back and watch the 8 year olds talk Rossi and Pietta..... :D

I know how the owners of Rossi's can get their guns to work......just paint them white.

On another note, there's a Pentagon briefing going on and this goofy looking liberal journalist is asking the guy when the U.S. is going to start accessing the environmental impact the war is causing. The Pentagon man says that the U.S. is more focused in getting the people of Ukraine back to their houses.........wow! that sounded like common sense.

Liberals really need to be outlawed.

Fact....if Putin loses this war he will be ousted from power by his own people

Win or lose, what country with any decency is going to do business with Russia?

China is on the sidelines waiting.

Once again, Trump was right.

China and Russia should have stayed ostracized. A leopard never changes his spots.

Well, I got a 2hr power nap this morning, then had to drive dad down to Portland for a Dr.visit.
Just got home. Least it wasn't as long as my mom's operation was! It's a long way down there. That's the downside of living up here I guess.

Yea.....yea....Hi mom! Can I be your adopted son and this way me and Jay can be brothers.......I can move in your basement and cut your grass and wash your cars.

Wish the best for mom and dad......it's not easy being my age, let alone another 12-14 years....

Well, another redneck move on my part......bought a new loveseat last week, complete with power everything, console........a quality one, no Big Lots junk.......ok, well.......well........the old couch was very much quality being made in Canada but the fabric was starting to dry rot. It was only about 40 years old!......

I usually take this stuff out back and light a match to it ......well....ready? It under the overhang of the barn......it's a keeper..... :D

Might as well include Gunny and GK to the adoption thing.....heck, we all could be brothers.....a band.....

Fred can't come because he would take charge and institute rules and force us all to be "nice" to each other......

Thanks boys! I really mean it.
My mom rode down with us! She is a machine. Never know she had anything done. Nothing big with the old man. Had a dermatologist check a spot is all.
Don't even have to cross the road. They are just out back. Or I guess I'm out back, depending how you look at it.
Come on up boys! Plenty of room. My parents place is huge! The cellar and attic are finished, so there are 4 floors. 3 or 4 bedrooms upstairs they don't even use. You're all set! :D
Now me? I live in a hut basically. I guess I didn't amount to much. :D

I can be polite.....and usually am, I think.
But I'm also honest.

Regarding the 45....
I see it like this. It was a Colt proprietary cartridge. It was developed and first chambered in their model P. When they put a roll mark on as to chambering, it says 45 Colt.
Nowhere does it say long. Their cartridge, their gun, their name.

Look here you tart.....
The 30-30 was named the 30 W.C.F. and was so named by Winchester until ww2.

I have Winchesters that have "30 W.C.F." roll marked on their barrels.

I have Winchesters that are roll marked "30-30"

I have a very early 1899 Savage that is roll marked "30 Savage"

I have/had early Marlins that are marked "30-30"

But ....we all call it the "30-30" when in fact it's the 30 W.C.F.

I have many examples of original 45 Colt ammo that are short and long, inside benet primed, tinned, military, b.p., smokeless but the factory called it the 45 Colt but everyone else calls it whatever they want...just like the 30 W.C.F.

Lets see how many "45 Colts" you have and take pictures and I'll do the same but I'll need 2 pages of bandwidth and you can do it with one picture...your signature line....I don't read...I do it.....now , get your pj's on and get to bed because you have a BIG day ahead of you tomorrow. Your Rossi don't count because rusty conduit stapled on a 2x4 is not a gun.

The vote is in....3-1 in favor of an excommunication. --------0045LONGCOLT.

You should be held for animal cruelty. If the original Jay Bird was still alive he would come to my defense but he is dead and buried with all of his license plates he used to stomp on, along with his harmonica and bottle of Thunderbird......"What's the word?...Thunderbird......what's the price?.....50 cents twice".

Citizen or not, you wouldn't need to worry as I'm sure between us brothers we can get you loaded out for anything you would want/need/desire to shoot.

Wowzers that cold front last night had some heavy winds! Power went out a couple times but didn't stay out, thankfully!

I learned that it's a 45 Colt, originally , when the case was lengthened it became know unofficially as the long Colt. Just like the 380 is a 9mm short. The good thing is we don't see the 45 short cartridge on the shelves any more so there is no confusion ( except in gender) when buying ammo .

Interrogation of suspected kidnappers would be required to establish the facts behind Jay Bird's disappearance unless a confession is forthcoming.

Mom's birthday today. Old gal is 78 and still doing high jump. Got way more if a social life than I do. :D

Wife and I will stop over for a visit this morning.

My boy was some pizzed the other night. He tried to buy two S&W revolvers online but they wouldn't ship them to him. There is sometimes downsides to Alaska.
So.....old dad came through and bought em. They shipped yesterday so we will see..... :D

Will do John. Thank you.
Haha yeah. It's my duty as a father to make sure everything is OK with them. If I see the LEAST thing to give me pause, I should probably not send them. Wouldn't want the lad to take any risk. :D

The .380 started life as the 9mm Kurz.... there's a full camo Ruger .380 in the house somewhere....I ain't seen it in a couple of years.

Jayster...good for mom....how are her spirits?.....78 birthdays! .....my grandparents both had 96 but they didn't make have much of a life after 80 something....

I want Jay Bird back........

GK.....a nice place to be raised.....maple lined streets.....dads would go to work in the morning while mom stayed by the sink
and we hoodlums would prowl the woods.......

I want Jay Bird back......a Spanish Inquisition will be starting later in the day.....

Gunny....why aren't you hunting?

When people "nick pick" about small meaningless terminology, we are bored.....I'm guilty of that 5x over.

I want Jay Bird back....but it ain't gonna happen until the Inquisition is over....

Well big day.
Kristy put her "shine on" and we took a big trip down to Augusta and went to Sam's Club. We didn't get a whole lot but that's a big day out on the town for us. Everything costs twice what it was.
I was packing my good old Colt LW Commander in case anyone tried to rob us of our shredded cheddar, canned tuna, butter, eggs, and bacon.
We did call ahead and had a big take out order at the 99. Got some sirloin tips, Buffalo wings, and potato skins. Had a gift card from the kids since Christmas.
Now we are back home watching the X-Files and I'm having some Buffalo wings.
Life's simple pleasures. :D
