OT-M1 Carbine

Post by ceb »

I hate contributing to the OT posts, but at least its a rifle. I traded into something I've looked for for a long time, a M1 Carbine, its been rebuilt at some time as most have as it has the new sights, round bolt etc. Its a Inland receiver and is in very good condition, I look forward to shooting it. Anyone have any sources for original good quality magazines for this rifle?

Try Numrich arms or Springfield Sporters; www.ssporters.com They used to have a bin of used 15 rnd mags that was @ 4' high and 6' wide. They also had a big pile of them that were still in the wrapper. It's been several years since I've been up there. Weird bunch but I got some really good stuff out of there.

any good gun shop worth its salt will have some for sale. My local shop had 4 original and a dozen or more after market.

Go to the next gun shows in your area. Around here, you can buy hundreds with whatever makers that your looking for.

Some years ago I bought 15 from Sarco, in the wrappers, for some ridiculous low price.
The hook was the quantity, it was well worth it.
I have a .30 carbine and a 5.7mm Johnson.

ceb, their are some in the estate I'm currently handling. I don't recall how many, believe they were 15 rounders. There was also some factory and milsurp ammo if I recall. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time but can check and see what's there. Do you want me to PM you when I know what I have? It all need's to be sold and I'd rather do it on the forums I belong to than the auctions.

I don't know why I never think of the auction sites, There are several there. Thanks! I did think of cheaper than dirt, but all they had was current manufacture and I'm unsure of quality.

Antietamgw, I would really appreciate that, let me know what they have and how much they need.

if it goes "bang" it's on topic.

M1 carbines have a lever... it's just on the side instead of under the reciever 8)

I need one to round out a little hole in my collection
