Gelatin torso plus five sheets of 3/4" plywood to stop it...

The 340 grain 44 Mag out of the handgun penetrates like crazy too.

As far as I know, lead penetrates living tissues well.

My twin brother is absolutely SICK on blackpowder rifles & muskets and shoots a match lock; a wheel lock; and also a snaplock (snaphaunce) which came before the flintlock -- and he has a bunch of those too. Plus he's now building a .75 caliber Arquebus (think "boom stick", a pipe barrel on a long pole) which preceded the match lock. I will have to send this to him for sure.

The wheel lock he just had made is an exact copy of one found in the family home of John Alden of Plymouth (Mass, U.S.) fame. He also has percussion and flint versions of the Hall Rifle too, an early breechloader for BP. Those "do leak a little" gas/smoke, so he doesn't hot rod them -- and I haven't dared touch one off.
