From my friend John Taffin

Post by JimT »

SOME THINGS I HAVE LEARNED IN MY FOUR SCORE +

1. 70 years ago I knew everything; now not so much.
2. There is no such thing as a free lunch, or breakfast or supper.
3. I now know the difference between a chocolate pie and a cow pie.
4. I know most public servants, aren't.
5. Most of those in authority who say they are there to help us, don't.
6. Things cannot being happiness.
7. The most important things in life are Faith, Family, and Friends. Add in Firearms and Freedom and everything is pretty well covered.
8. The older I get the busier I keep my guardian angel.
9. I was not put on this earth to be anyone's judge.
10. If someone gave me a dollar for every good thing I did I would be in debt.
11. If someone gave me a penny for every dumb, stupid, or any sin against God, I would have enough money to buy a deluxe 2022 4 x 4 pickup and have enough money left over to buy gas for the rest of my life.
12. I don't have all the answers, I don't have many answers BUT I know Jesus is The Answer.

Spoken in true humility and so very true. When it comes to applying these truths to oneself, I easily float to the top, so to speak.

I hear you Master Jim......you have to understand.....I was a Teamster for 44 years and we never walked away from a fight.....that thought process stays with you for a lifetime....some liberals call that "toxic masculinity"......I call it "standing your ground".....

JT, our friend needs a strong soft hand, iron fist in a velvet glove. I am too eastern blue blood. You take him in your guidance.

Don’t make me come over there Six. JT is a nice you better go with that ;-)

I'm sorry Master Fred.....it won't happen again......the Velcro that was holding me under your wing has loosened up so I tightened it and threw some permanent epoxy on it. I couldn't bear the thought of flying on my own..thank you Master Fred and Master Jim.---------your subservient follower---001

I understand that. She was talking more about the verbal fights ... and internet arguments. She did not back down if it came to physical threats and didn't expect me to do so either.

On another note, how come JT does not come over here and post? He is another one who has cost me a lot of money on 44 Spl's....and Colts.....and early Rugers.

I still have nightmares over losing that 99% 4" 1950 Target 44 Spl. to him

Verbal fights? They are nothing.....it's the ones that will make me lose my right to own guns are the ones I avoid.

Six, years ago you promised me that 4” 1950 44 Spl and so far not here. Something like you sold it to Taffin or someone.

Now, not an issue, I have a 6.5”. But, until have that gun why do you have the right to spout off when JT (JimT) is here? Recognizing there are a very few here who have the level of knowledge you few do.

Mr Taffin is one of the people who have the hard won skills and knowledge to be held in high regard. His list makes me realize that his knowledge and skills extend beyond guns. I would like to officially invite him out for a meal and some coffee if he is ever in my neighborhood.

Of course that also goes for a bunch of the men on this forum.

I like the saying: there are new oats, and used oats. Both are very useful but, in no way interchangeable.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres
