real pemmican is my question

still reeling after discovering that chili does not have beans in it, i've decided to ask in advance what the real recipe for pemmican is. the kind that the earlier folks, the much earlier folks who survived sometimes on pemmican. i'm guessing that it doesn't have beans either. but what does it have, the kind that will keep 50 years ?

Been a while since I saw a Townsend video. They put a lot of effort into these.
