Who's shooting the "Big Fifty", 348, 358, 375 Win?

Post by AmBraCol »

Currently Starline's got those in stock, and in fact there are various iterations of the 50 cal available, and a few other "odd ball" cartridges, both rifle and handgun. I mentioned it under Ray's "Light" topic, but knowing that not everyone would read that particular post I figured I'd get it out here for the community as components are hit or miss anymore.

I was having a tough time finding affordable .405WCF brass. I finally discovered that Graf & Sons had Jamison .405 in stock for $23.99 per bag of 20. If anybody needs some you better hurry, there's not a whole lot of it left!

Don't forget the 500 Smith & Wesson. It's new but is a really nice straight wall evergun cartridge... 8)

Tutt: go back and look at the brass at Creedmoor. I looked at the brass availability for different calibres and probably 75% of it is "unavailable, back order OK".

Ray, I clicked on the individual links and you are probably correct although they do have some items in stock. Just a while back, they had many more items in stock, and as you know, supplies disappear in just hours. I don't know, but I appreciate you pointing it out none the less. I did find some cases that I might order myself despite that. There is a saying in Judo, "He who hesitates, is thrown". Regards,

I run a Swedish rolling block in .50-70, but don't need 250 cases, as, loaded with black, they tend to last forever.

I shoot both big 50's... 50/110 and 50 Alaskan. I love the starline cases. Problem now is there are no Barnes original 450's around and I am low on stock.

Thought you sold it? I'd like 50 of the 50/110 brass but cant justify buying 250 of'em for a future project. Todd/3leg

Todd, no this is one I have had in the gun safe partially finished for several years, and finally finished the stock and had the receiver cased and the barrel blued.

Odd that of all those in the Starline list, the .348 WCF is by far the most expensive per case. Not sure why that would be.
