All right you guys, don't laugh
... but will anyone here admit to having had a pedicure?
... he waits for the hysterical laughter to die down ...
Why would I ask this? I actually have a pretty good reason. After having had fusions at L2-3, L3-4, L4-5 and L5-S1, I no longer have the flexibility to bend over far enough to really care for my feet. It is a struggle just putting on socks and shoes, much less trying to trim nails. So I ask. My significant other says once guys try it, they can't believe how great their feet feel.
OK, where do I turn in my man card ...?

No judgment here buddy. Get it done and don't worry about what anyone else thinks.
Re: All right you guys, don't laugh
Here's a suggestion for ya I hear that's all the rage in Taos, and Seattle.
(I can bend over enough to do one or two at a time....I tend to neglect it, tho....Sometimes it looks like I could swoop into a river and snag salmon with these talons)

My buddy has ingrown toenails so he gets a pedicure to clean them up. I'm surprised they'd do that.

Not just socks and shoes ... how to put on your underwear without falling over!Bill in Oregon wrote: ↑Tue Sep 28, 2021 5:16 pm It is a struggle just putting on socks and shoes ...
I find if I lay them on the floor, open up the leg areas with my toes, then I can stand in them and get them up without a struggle. Otherwise I can get one leg in ok but getting the other in without my toes getting stuck in the material is a chore! If I start hopping around on one foot I am sure to impact the floor at some point.

Re: All right you guys, don't laugh
My "war wound" that I returned with from SE Asia is a slowly advancing toenail fungus. My lady doc, who is fairly worthless for most things health-related, gave me a "toenailectomy" and removed the three largest toenails on my left foot last Spring. It turned out that it was 6 weeks before I could return to my normal long walks afterwards so I have put off doing the right foot until this Winter when I won't miss my walking so much. Sure wonderful not to have to struggle with those three toes, looking forward to getting the others eventually. I had long ago abandoned clippers and went to the spherical carbide grinder on my Dremel tool to get the job done. "Nasty" doesn't even come close to describing my nails. And yeah, getting harder every year to access those things.

I have a Brother in Law that works for the Railroad and as the years have gone by is "filling out" like most of us. . He gets a pedicure every month and thinks nothing of it. He is single , rich , and will retire soon . He is the Happiest most fun-loving Person I know.

Never done it yet Bill. But considering how tough it's getting to reach my toenails to clip them, I can see it might be something I'm forced to do at some point.

Now a real man would just get his wife to get the Vise Grips, and rip those toenails right out if you can't reach them.

Re: All right you guys, don't laugh
I have had a couple or three pedicures over the years. I think it's a good idea, and they also remove old dead calluses, etc.
Regarding your vise grips, my father in law, (may he rest in peace) used to suffer from ingrown toenails and would actually take a pair of channel locks and tear his toenails off, ever so often. I think he had trouble with at least a couple of different toes. He really did this. I remember him saying that he could handle a lot of pain for a few seconds but he couldn't hardly put up with that gigging gigging, continuously. He was a tough old man.

Whatever works for you Bill. My occasional indulgence is paying someone to walk on my lower back. Wear and tear from greco wrestling into my 30's. I can still reach my toes..for now.

here is the answer: all you need is a steady hand [ and nerves ] and a dremel motor tool. when you are too aggressive - well ….
the bleeding stops quickly cause the high speed kinda cauterizes everything

Harold, I think I'd choose the Dremel over the router, even if it is a lot slower.

Don't even need a fusion to limit flexibility. Just blow a couple discs and have the microdisectomies, that will do the trick.
