A friend of mine has a farm that he uses as a second home and leases the land to another farmer. Most weekends there is quite a bit of activity around the place but he let me know no one would be around today. Sweet! The gun club I belong to is busy this time of year and I'm not a big fan of shooting around people I don't know.
Anyway,
Started early and got out there before the temps went up today.
First reload for the fairly new Rem brass, 100 gr Speer Spitzer and 36 gr of Varget.
First target was about 1 1/2" but that was my fault. Took me a bit too settle down.
Second five shot group was the best of the morning: 7/8" center to center at 100 yds. Minute of woodchuck for sure.
If i can get my hands on some 87 gr. bullets, I can reproduce my grandfather's IMR-3031 loading that would shoot about 1/2"-3/4" groups at 100 yds
through his Model 70.
Set up my bench in the corner of the equipment barn.

Just sent my friend a text to ask if there was anything he needed done around the place, carpentry wise, and a thank you.
He has no idea what a morning like that for my state of mind.
