As some of you may know Lil’Gun is a wonder powder when used in the 22Hornet. It provides relatively high velocity and lower pressure than other powders.
Just wondering whether anyone has experimented with Lil’Gun in the 25-20?
I came across some loads on a website that quoted Lil’Gun loads where pressures were held to 39K psi max. The test firearm used was an old Savage model 23B. The velocities with Lil’Gun were about 300 FPS faster than other powders like W296/H110.
That pressure (39K psi) might be too high for an old Win 1892, but I’m not sure their test rifle was all that strong anyway. I know the early 1892’s were not as strong as later production rifles. Does anyone know when Winchester started using better steel to make their actions?

Re: 25-20 Lil’Gun loads
I have tried it in a few different cartridges, 25-20, 450 Bushmaster, hornet and my Bee. Its a good powder for sure. What I'm not happy with it is in 28 ga, just dirty and lots of unburned left in the barrels. Pressure is the key with lilgun me thinks.
